Bridges of Madison County

ACT Theatre and Showtunes Theatre, 2017. Photos by Chris Bennion.

This was the PNW professional premiere of Bridges. I took the original proscenium concept and translated it into an intimate 3/4 thrust space to match the intimacy of the material and bring the audience closer to the story. It was presented as a staged concert as part of ACT Theatre's ACTLab program. The concert featured a true rarity in regional, professional theatre. We were able to present the full, original orchestration as part of the concert.

Shenandoah

ACT Theatre/Showtunes Theatre, 2016. Photos by Chris Bennion.

Shenandoah was presented as a staged concert in 3/4 as part of ACT Theatre's ACTLab program. With the blessing of original lyricist Peter Udell, this production featured the first known gender switch of the main character, Charlie Anderson, originally played by Tony-winner John Cullum. The story was now presented as a mother fighting for her children in the midst of The Civil War.
